NBA Superstar Lebron James has thrown his proverbial hat into the ring regarding the Nintendo 64 vs. GameCube console debate. Both Nintendo consoles are regarded highly by their users as each console has ushered in new ways to experience gaming in their respective generations. As both systems were released during his youth, King James would know enough to have his claim to which is better.
Released in the summer of 1996, the Nintendo 64 marked Nintendo’s transition into 3-Dimensional gaming. The console’s premiere title, Super Mario 64 is considered by many to be the herald of 3D console gaming itself. Both Super Mario 64 and Nintendo 64 celebrated their 25th-anniversary last year. The Nintendo GameCube was released in the fall of 2001 as gaming had newly broken into the modern mainstream. It was an era of experimentation, as most GameCube titles would defy conventional gaming trends set by their predecessors. Titles like Super Super Mario Sunshine, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, and Resident Evil 4, would create a whole new take on these classic franchises, while titles like Animal Crossing, Chibi-Robo, and Pikmin, provide all new experiences entirely.
