Myst Becomes A Mini-Golf Course In Bizarre New DLC
A puzzling new DLC for Walkabout Mini Golf will let players putt around the beloved world of adventure game Myst. Developed by Cyan Inc., the immersive puzzle game was released back in 1991 and became an instant classic among fans of exploration and secrets. The story and world details of Myst have allowed the retro PC title's popularity to persist into the modern day, and a new Walkabout Mini Gold expansion will celebrate that love.
By combining state-of-the-art graphics with open-ended gameplay and a fascinating story, Myst was able to stand out amongst other point-and-click puzzle games of its time. The first-person title sees players stumble upon Myst, a magical book which transports them to a fantasy island of the same name. Player unravel the mysteries of the island by finding clues and solving puzzles, and the lack of any physical threats made for a unique experience built on intelligence and wonder rather than intensity. The game's enduring popularity led to an Oculus Quest Myst remake back in 2020, allowing gamers to revisit the nostalgic title in virtual reality.

As announced by Cyan Inc. via Twitter, a partnership with developer Mighty Coconut will let gamers explore the world of Myst in the form of a Walkabout Mini Golf expansion. The virtual reality title lets players immerse themselves in the world of miniature golf, and now the island of Myst will be converted into eight separate courses inspired by the classic point-and-click title. Commemorative Myst golf balls and a special putter will also be included in Walkabout Mini Golf: Myst, which will be released in fall of 2022.
