MTG Secret Lair x Dungeons & Dragons 50th Anniversary Superdrop Release Date, Price, & Sets
Secret Lair has become a big part of the brand over the past several years, and yet another interesting Secret Lair release is coming with the 50th Anniversary celebration. Focusing on the collectible aspect of, Secret Lair releases products in limited drops that feature unique artwork with interesting brand and artist collaborations. The limited aspect has proved to be a source of frustration for some fans, but there's no denying that the best Secret Lair releases are great for those who can get their hands on them.
and are no stranger to collaborations, as both product lines have been owned by publisher Wizards of the Coast since the 1990s. Previous efforts have seen crossovers in both directions, with receiving some sourcebooks that incorporate lore and concepts into tabletop play. released cards in the and lines in recent years, and Secret Lair released a drop to tie in with the 2023 film.
Magic: The Gathering's Bloomburrow set will release soon, bringing with it new cards, card treatments, and other special bonuses for players.
The Secret Lair x 50th Anniversary Superdrop will be available on August 27, 2024, coming out a week before the 2024 early access release. The Superdrop comprises five releases that celebrate a couple of characters and one iconic monster. Each drop will cost $29.99, with a Foil Edition of each raising the price to $39.99, and products will be available on the D&D Beyond marketplace as well as the Secret Lair site.
Like other recent Secret Lair releases, the Superdrop is only available while supplies last, so anyone intent on getting the crossover products might need to free up some time on August 27. The official Secret Lair site features a sign-up option for notifications, although if the recent release is anything to go by, jumping on a notification might still not be enough to guarantee a copy.
