The National Cinema Day 2022 celebrations are in full swing today! It was earlier said to be celebrated on 16 September across the country but it was postponed by a week. However, Multiplex Association of India (MAI) had announced the postponement on request of various movie industry stakeholders. It is now being held on 23rd September, which is today. More than 4000 multiplex screens all over India, including PVR, INOX, Cinepolis, Carnival, and Delite came together to offer movie tickets priced at just Rs. 75.
The industry says that it is a "thank you" gesture for all movie-lovers who have contributed to reopening of cinemas after the long break due to the pandemic. “National Cinema Day is also an invitation to those moviegoers who haven't made it back to a cinema near them, yet," the association mentioned.
Best part? You can enjoy the latest releases such as the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra, Chup, Dhokha- Round D Corner, Sita Ramam, Madhur Bhandarkar's Babli Bouncer and many more at just Rs. 75!
MAI has shared that National Cinema Day is estimated to set a new Cinema Attendance record in 2022. However, participating cinemas in all states will be making special offers on National Cinema days. MAI requested moviegoers to share names of websites and relevant social media handles in order to boost participation in cinemas.
