The second Mortal Kombat movie has reportedly been given a release date of October 24, 2025, meaning that we'll be waiting more than a year to see Karl Urban as Johnny Cage.
Although Mortal Kombat 1 might not have had the strong start that fans were hoping for thanks to its "predatory" item store and misfires with some of its game modes, it's made a pretty big comeback in recent months and has given fans a reason to stay excited about the series. The other big reason is Mortal Kombat 2, the long-awaited sequel to the brutal 2021 movie.
We've known about Mortal Kombat 2 for quite some time now, as rumours about a sequel have been swirling ever since 2021. It was finally confirmed to be in the works at the start of 2022 and, while we haven't had any official trailers or footage from the movie yet, we do at least have a release date to look forward to.
