If you missed Monster Hunter Stories 2 when it came out in mid-2021, I don’t blame you. There’s a host of reasons why a lot of folks skipped out on it, but the good news is that Capcom is permanently reducing the price of the game: which will also impact the aftermarket.
Announced openly on Twitter, Capcom had this to say:
“Ride on! Grab Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin for #NintendoSwitch and PC/Steam at a new price of $39.99. Start your journey today with the demo and transfer your progress over to the full game.”
That price is already reflected in the digital edition of the game on both Switch and Steam. Note that there is a “Digital Deluxe Edition” though, which is now $50. The new $40 standard isn’t present everywhere though, as a search through various digital storefronts came up with a $60 digital voucher code price. Keep that in mind if you’re ever shopping for the game! It’ll take a bit for everything to really sink in everywhere, but used copies are already dropping to $30 and below in some marketplaces (like Amazon).
There’s also the chance that Monster Hunter Stories 2 will be part of the ever-present Capcom sale periods, so you could get it for even cheaper. In this economy, it goes without saying that we could use more price drops.
