The most modern feature of Pokemon Legends: Arceus is the Switch used to play it, but one game researcher discovered a very modern room hidden within the world.
As VGC reports, the room was discovered by Twitter user DeepGameResearch who regularly uses tools to reverse engineer games "for fun." In Arceus, DeepGameResearch found a room filled with modern conveniences and tech, which is the complete opposite of the rest of the ancient world, so why does it exist at all?
The best guess as to why Game Freak created it is due to how Arceus begins. The player travels through time to reach the Hisui region. It could be the case that the room is cut content from the intro and depicts the modern world the player inhabits before time travel is triggered.
As the room is in an area of the game with a blank skybox and no entry or exit points, there's no way for a player to navigate to it. Once in the room, no objects can be interacted with, either. Both of these facts add fuel to the theory it was only meant for use in a cutscene.
As the video showing off the room above notes, a more in-depth video is planned for release exploring this new room. Perhaps there's more to learn and Nintendo intends to surprise us all with an unexpected Arceus game expansion?
