Final Fantasy 7 Remake's PlayStation exclusivity partially came to an end in 2021 as the game arrived on PC. The initial reaction to the port from a lot of those who played it right off the bat was that it hadn't been executed very well. Then the modders arrived and ever since, almost everything notable about the PC version of FF7 Remake has been in relation to its mods, whether they be helpful or just amusing.
The latest mod might fall somewhere in between those two descriptors. It all depends on how much you like Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Darkness. xRaq has started on the ambitious project of replacing as many of the characters, weapons, and anything else they can replace in FF7 Remake with people, items, and other stuff from Angel Of Darkness, and you can download and use the mod yourself through Nexus Mods right now.

xRaq warns that the mod is a work in progress, deciding to make it available now in case they decide they've pumped too many hours into it and never actually finish the project. In fairness, an enormous amount of work has been done already. All the main characters, and a fair few others outside FF7 Remake's core group, have been replaced with characters from Angel Of Darkness.
Tifa as Lara Croft leads the charge, of course, Cloud is Kurtis Trent, Barret is Louis Bouchard, and Aerith is Janice. You can check out how the mod looks in action above if you're still on the fence about applying it. As xRaq highlights, it is for a pretty niche audience. You'll also need to uninstall most other mods including ones that turn characters and weapons into other things, of which there are already quite a few available.
