The classic gameThe Simpsons: Hit & Run deserves a sequel, and if studio EA Games doesn't make a Hit & Run 2, it would be a big mistake. EA owns the rights to Hit & Run, but it's done nothing with the IP since its acquisition. Whether or not a sequel to the Grand Theft Auto-esque game is in the works isn't known, but EA needs to take advantage of the game's popularity and give The Simpsons: Hit & Run 2 the release day it deserves.
Players take on the personas of the Simpsons family and Apu in The Simpsons: Hit & Run as they complete a variety of missions in order to save Springfield from an evil plot led by Treehouse of Horror staples Kang and Kodos. The game's chaos perfectly personifies the show that inspired it, and it's enjoyed massive success over the years, partly due to its open-world freedom and partly to the way that it lets players explore Springfield and interact with the various characters from the show. Even today, almost 20 years after it came out, it's highly rated and praised by those who remember and return to it. A remaster or sequel has been anticipated for some time, though the latter may be preferable so that it can stand on its own.

Any sequel would need to be just as full of mayhem and madness as its predecessor. Polls have named Simpsons Hit & Run a most-wanted remaster, so the demand is there, especially considering the popularity of other Simpsons games. There's seemingly no reason not to make a Hit & Run 2, so it's a bit odd that there hasn't even been a mention of it from EA.
