Minecraft The Wild Update Gets Release Date
Even with it being over a decade since Minecraft first launched, the open-world building and digging simulator is still unveiling new free content updates for players. In 2021, Minecraft fans saw the release of the Caves and Cliffs update, which heavily altered how the underground portion of the map worked, even allowing players to dig below Y=0. There were also new mobs in the form of the axolotl and goats, alongside some more blocks for players to make incredible builds with.
Caves and Cliffs part 2 released in November 2021, and shortly after The Wild update for Minecraft was revealed with a general 2022 release date. The Wild seemed to contain around as much new content as the Caves and Cliffs updates, with new mobs, new biomes to be explored, and even ancient cities acting as miniature adventures for Minecraft players. Something else that The Wild update will bring to Minecraft is a larger focus on sound, as players will now have to consider the noisiness of their walking, eating, and other activities.

After a long wait, The Wild update finally has a release date for Minecraft. Players will finally be able to dive into the mangroves and ancient Minecraft cities on June 7. The early June release date means that the wait is nearly over for fans at the time of writing. As mentioned, there are plenty of things to look forward to in The Wild update. The new mobs are the Allay, a creature that won the Minecraft fan vote for new mobs last year, and frogs, which feed on fireflies.
