The Minecraft Java Edition update is finally here. The patch 1.18.2 update was released earlier this week and addresses existing bugs and adds some quality of life changes along with other minor updates. The update makes its way to the Minecraft Java Edition players ahead of the Wild update scheduled for later in 2022. The Wild will be a major update to the game and will add new biomes, mobs, improvements on game mechanics and more. But for now, with the recent patch, Minecraft has brought in some creator additions to make things more fun for the players. Check out the details of this update below.
Some of the major changes with this new update includes a main menu warning for users running Minecraft in a 32-bit environment. Minecraft had announced earlier that it will be stopping its support for the 32-bit environment. Players residing in South Korea will see gameplay timers and notices in compliance with the gaming laws of the country. Further, the much anticipated ‘placefeature’ functionality has also been added for the Java Edition players.
There are some technical changes to the Minecraft game as well. These are as follows:
• Dolphins will now more accurately pick the closest structure regardless of type
• The locate command now uses a namespaced id parameter
• The locate command parameter is now a configured structure rather than a structure type. For instance, you can now use /locate village_desert or /locate shipwreck_beached
• Ender chests are no longer gift wrapped around Christmas
