The first major update for Lost Ark is coming this March, introducing new story content and endgame Abyssal Raids. Since Lost Ark launched in the West in February, the free-to-play MMO has been met with overwhelming praise from players around the world, remaining one of the top-streamed games on Twitch since its release. The South Korea-based studio, Smilegate, has been working closely with Amazon Games to bring as much content from the original Korean release of Lost Ark to the West.
Since its release, Lost Ark has seen no major changes and has remained in the same state it was shipped in. Smilegate and Amazon Games have already confirmed that they plan to bring all of the content included in the Korean release to the game, but have never been clear with their approach. Although the amount of content included with the game’s wider launch was lauded by fans, many were left wondering what the future held for the massively successful Lost Ark.

In a blog post on the official Lost Ark website, later shared by Lost Ark on Twitter, the developer has outlined a plan to bring forth the next batch of content from the Korean version of the game. The March update will add a new story episode complete with new quests, locations, and cinematics. The upcoming “Kadan” episode of Lost Ark’s story will feature new and returning characters who will explore the history behind Arkesia’s first Guardian slayer. The post also announced “Abyss Raids,” an endgame activity that looks to give players a greater challenge than the game’s current Guardian Raids.
