On February 8, Minecraft Dungeons, an action adventure game based on the original Minecraft game, crossed 15 million players mark and created a new milestone. To celebrate the occasion, the publishers have announced a new in-game event called Festival of Frost. The event went live yesterday, February 8 and will continue till February 22. But that’s not all. As a token of appreciation to all the players, Minecraft will also be giving freebies to everyone who logs in to Minecraft Dungeons after February 8. All the players will receive a free Iceologer cape to decorate their character.
The Minecraft Dungeons game supports consoles like PlayStation, XBox, Nintendo Switch as well as Desktop computers and offers a dungeon crawling styled game where players can fight enemies and collect better gears to get stronger. Unlike Minecraft, this game does not take place in an open world and has procedural generation mechanics. The game was first launched in May 2020 and within 2 years, it has amassed more than 15 million players.
The new event Festival of Frost is a part of Minecraft Dungeon’s wintry theme. Set in a winter themed map, the floors and structures have a frost lining on them. The publishers also announced the return of the Chills and Thrills seasonal trials from last year’s event. The event will have usual prizes to win and some new ones as well. An Iceologer cape will be rewarded to every player as an appreciation. To get the cape, players simply need to log into the game after February 8.
Minecraft Dungeon’s official Twitter account posted, “ WE'VE REACHED 15 MILLION PLAYERS! Celebrate this exciting milestone with a wintery event! Between Feb 8-22, join the Festival of Frost, featuring chilly challenges and freezing
