PlayStation has revealed that Shadow Warrior 3 will be available on PlayStation Now when it releases in March, making it the very first day one launch title on Sony's gaming streaming service. Developer Flying Wild Hog and publisher Devolver Digital announced the third installment of the Shadow Warrior reboot series in 2020 with a brutal new look at the title's new fast-paced action-packed world and gameplay. The title is set to launch on March 1st and will feature the return of Lo Wang with features similar to DOOM Eternal, which will overpower players with a brand-new arsenal, include first-person enemy executions, close combat battles, and a better movement system for better fluidity and action during battles.
As it stands, the PlayStation Now subscription service is a platform with hundreds of PlayStation 2, 3, and 4 games that players can stream on their PlayStation 5 or PC for $10 per month. Despite focusing heavily on older games compared to Xbox's Game Pass service which offers day one releases, PlayStation Now has also added big-name games like The Last of Us 2, God of War, andFallout 76 to its library. These have however only debuted years after a game has hit the market and while the service has been available for almost a decade, less than a handful of games have technically been claimed to have launched on the service as day-one releases. These titles are Virtual Fighter 5 and Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 but are factored out due to significant strings attached to their releases.
