Microsoft confirms it won't have a physical presence at E3
Microsoft confirmed it won't have a presence on E3 2023's showfloor.
In a statement sent to IGN, the platform holder said its Xbox Games Showcase planned for June 11 is part of E3 Digital but that it won't have a booth at the physical event starting June 13.
"We can't wait to host our Xbox Games Showcase on June 11 and will share more details later," Microsoft said. "We also look forward to co-streaming our event as part of E3 Digital and will not be on the E3 showfloor."
Microsoft announced its Xbox Showcase last week, which will be followed by a presentation dedicated to Starfield that was also announced last week by game director Todd Howard alongside the title's release date.
Rumours that Microsoft was going to skip E3 emerged from January, alongside similar rumours about Sony and Nintendo. Xbox did say at the time it'll host a physical showcase of its upcoming games in Los Angeles this summer though.
Nintendo confirmed in February that it will not present at this year's show, but PlayStation has yet to confirm its involvement.
On the other hand, Ubisoft confirmed its presence, promising a "strong line-up" of titles.
E3 2023 will take place from June 13 to 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and is organised by GamesIndustry.biz's parent company ReedPop. Registration for the event opened last week.
