If you own an Xbox controller, look after it, as buying a replacement could prove very difficult in the coming weeks and months.
As VGC reports(Opens in a new window), Xbox wireless controllers in any color are extremely hard to find right now, or nonexistent in the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, and as IGN reports(Opens in a new window), the US, too. For example, the Xbox Core Wireless Controller(Opens in a new window) on Amazon US is currently available to order in a couple of colors, but they won't ship until late July or early August.
Microsoft has confirmed there is a global shortage, "We know it may be hard finding Xbox Wireless Controllers right now due to supply disruptions" a Microsoft spokesperson told VGC, "We’re working as fast as possible with our manufacturing and retail partners to improve this. Please check with your local retailer for availability."
In the US, your best bet for finding one is directly from the Microsoft Store(Opens in a new window) or Best Buy(Opens in a new window). However, with stock at other retailers running out fast, remaining stock at these online stores is sure to be depleted quickly. Demand will also escalate now that Microsoft has confirmed it's struggling to make more of them.
