Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced major updates for WhatsApp Business messaging services on Thursday, May 19. He said that WhatsApp Business is set to open up to any business of any size around the world with WhatsApp Cloud API. Zuckerberg claims while speaking at the Conversations Business Messaging conference that more than one billion WhatsApp users connect with the business accounts every week. To expand the opportunities for any type of businesses, especially small businesses, WhatsApp officially announced the opening of its Cloud API to all businesses across the globe.
“In just a few minutes, any business or developer can easily access our service, build directly on top of WhatsApp to customize their experience, and speed up their response time to customers by using our secure WhatsApp Cloud API hosted by Meta,” Zuckerberg said during Meta's "Conversations" event. The WhatsApp Cloud API partners can help to eliminate severe expenses, as it will help businesses to offer quick access to new features to customers.
In addition to the WhatsApp Cloud API, the Meta-owned messaging app is also planning to provide advanced and optional tools, including the ability to claim a custom and personal short link, the WhatsApp update tracker WaBetaInfo report mentioned. There will be a couple of more exclusive features to Business accounts with the WhatsApp premium subscription plans.
The report further mentions that there is something more that will allow Business accounts to link up to 10 devices.
