Marvel Comics will be correcting the skin color of America Chavez after readers pointed out the hero appeared much lighter than usual in recent promo art. After sharing a new tease for the upcoming Thunderbolts series, writer Jim Zub responded to a question about Chavez's lighter than usual skin color, saying Marvel is already working to make sure her skin tone is more accurately reflected ahead of the comic's release.
America Chavez will suit up alongside the Thunderbolts in a brand new series from Jim Zub and Sean Izaakse coming later this year, which will be led by Hawkeye. The team seems to be taking the Thunderbolts in a more heroic direction, as the new lineup will also feature Spectrum, Power Man, Persuasion, and Gutsen Glory. However, after new art was shared for the five-issue Marvel Comics miniseries, it was pointed out that Chavez's skin color and appearance seemed off, as she appeared much lighter than she usually does.
