While the title has been widely criticized for its microtransactions, lack of endgame content and numerous technical issues, Marvel's Avengers players have praised the game's single-player storyline and each hero's unique combat style. Since release developer Crystal Dynamics has also supported the game with free post-launch content, including story campaigns like Future Imperfect and War for Wakanda. These updates added new playable heroes, like Black Panther, Kate Bishop and Hawkeye, alongside brand-new environments and boss encounters to experience. Many players have also praised Marvel's Avengers' MCU outfits, which give each character a costume inspired by their live-action counterparts.

While many players looked forward to the new War Table update, Marvel's Avengers (via Twitter) has announced that the new update is crashing PlayStation 5 consoles.
