Marvel’s Avengers players have been told that resetting their campaign progress could fix a crash issue that has been affecting some PS5 users since Tuesday.
Crystal Dynamics first acknowledged the PS5 crash issue shortly after the release of the game’s Version 2.3 patch on March 29.
The following day, it said it was testing a possible fix and hoped to provide a further update on Thursday.
But it also offered a workaround that it said was “resolving the issue for some players” – deleting campaign progress.
“Go to Operations and Reset your Reassemble Campaign Progress,” it said. “As soon as you become young Kamala on A-Day, force close the game from the PS home screen, then you should be able to start Avengers Initiative.”
Crystal Dynamics introduced the ability to replay Marvel’s Avengers’ campaign last March in the game’s 1.5 update.

Resetting campaign progress doesn’t result in players losing any player progression like XP, character progress, and collectibles obtained up until this point.
It was announced last September that Xbox had signed Square Enix studio Crystal Dynamics to co-develop Perfect Dark, which is the debut title from its new in-house studio The Initiative.
VGC reported earlier this month that The Initiative has seen a “fast and furious” wave of senior departures over the past year, leading to an increased role on Perfect Dark for Crystal Dynamics, which is also the studio behind the Tomb Raider series.
