Warning! Spoilers for Defenders #5 by Marvel Comics
Marvel Comics is going back in time like never before in the finale of Defenders, revealing the truth and origin behind the creation of the universe and all of existence. In Defenders #5, the team goes back to the Third Cosmos, where they discover the battle between creation and negation. The heroes have a front-row seat to the battle that started the Marvel Universe, watching the First Sentry and the Primal Void fight for existence.
The Marvel Universe is currently in the Eighth Cosmos or the seventh iteration of the Multiverse. Doctor Strange assembled a new Defenders team alongside the Masked Raider after learning Doctor Carlo Zota was traveling back through the different Cosmos' to unwrite reality. First, the Defenders have visited the Sixth Cosmos, where they added teammate Taaia, mother of Galactus. Next, the heroes ended up in a realm of pure magic when traveling back even further to the Fifth Cosmos. Finally, in the Fourth Cosmos, the Defenders met the archetypes of good and evil and the Pilgrim, whose death would create magic in the following Multiverse. Now, the heroes are in the Third Cosmos, where they learn even more about the origin of the Marvel Universe.

In Defenders #5 by Al Ewing, Javier Rodriguez, and VC's Joe Caramagna, the Defenders are thrown directly into an epic battle between existence and nothingness. The Third Cosmos is said to be the first born from the multiversal cycle, in a time before magic and science. The heroes see the fight «that began them all» as Lifebringer One (First Sentry) and the Anti-All (Primal Void) fight to determine the fate of creation.
