Martha is Dead and Hot Wheels Unleashed won top awards at the Italian Game Awards on Tuesday, which is organised by the Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association (IIDEA).
Horror title Martha is Dead won the Best Innovation Award, while Hot Wheels Unleashed was crowned at Best Italian Game.
Elsewhere, Nacon Studio Milan – the developer behind last year’s motorbike sim Rims Racing – won Outstanding Italian Company, and industry veteran Ivan Venturi was handed the award for Outstanding Individual Contribution.
Vesper by Cordens Interactive won the award for Best Italian Debut.
“Our main objective at Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association is to encourage the growth of our national video game industry and to share it internationally, and the Italian Video Game Award ceremony has succeeded in that”, said Thalita Malagò, General Manager at IIDEA.
“Every year we are so impressed with the variety of submissions we receive and this year was no exception. We are extremely grateful to our diligent judges for contributing to such an event.”
In addition to the awards, the Italian Video Game Awards ceremony showcased upcoming games from Italian developers including SBK 22 by Milestone, Batora: Lost Haven by Stormind Games, Soulstice by Reply Game Studios and Project Galileo by Jyamma Games added to the hype of the evening’s proceedings.
Finally, the Creative Director of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Davide Soliani, concluded the show by sharing a message to viewers.
