Ever since its launch in February 2022, Elden Ring has become some sort of a fable in the gaming space. The game has seen unprecedented success and popularity. The game ranks as the second highest-reviewed game on OpenCritic and has received "universal acclaim" according to review aggregator Metacritic. And that's not all. On streaming platform Twitch, it had almost 900,000 viewers in just 24 hours of its launch, making it the third-largest debut on the platform after Lost Ark and Cyberpunk 2077. And now, it appears that the game has reached yet another milestone by receiving 3.4 billion YouTube views, highest for a game, after sixty days of launch. In the process, it has beaten the likes of GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the Wild and others.
The big revelation came from the official Twitter account of YouTube Gaming which shared an infographic detailing how various games have performed on the platform in the first sixty days since their launch. The total views are calculated by counting all the views on all videos about Elden Ring. The views include walkthroughs, streams, tips and tricks, beginner's guide and more.
Posting the tweet, the account said, “Gather ‘round Tarnished! Let's look at the breakdown of how Elden Ring garnered 3.4 billion video views in 60 days, making it one of the biggest launches ever on YouTube”.
While Elden Ring took the top spot in YouTube Gaming, it is interesting to see how other games performed. GTA V takes the second place with a total 1.9 billion views. Third slot goes to the popular Red Dead Redemption 2 with 1.4 billion views. Third and fourth spots are taken by Nintendo games Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the Wild which received 828
