NFL superstar Marshawn Lynch explains the improv process behind Netflix's new crime-solving comedy Murderville. After Lynch retired from the NFL in 2019, he occupied his time by starting businesses and appearing on television. Lynch guest-starred on The League, Running Wild With Bear Grylls, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine as himself, and he even joined HBO's prestige drama series Westworld as the thief Giggles.
Lynch's latest venture into television is a new comedy on Netflix called Murderville. Based on BBC Three's Murder in Successville and executive produced by Will Arnett, the show takes the idea of a murder-mystery party and brings it to the silver screen with hilarious results. Murderville stars Arnett as Detective Terry Seattle who investigates a new mystery in each episode with the help of a celebrity guest as his homicide trainee. While the rest of Murderville's cast is given a script, the celerity guests must improvise their reactions to the others and guess the killer at the end. The rest of the Murderville cast includes Haneefah Wood as Chief Rhonda Jenkins-Seattle, Lilan Bowden as Amber Kang, and Philip Smithey as Det. Daz Phillips.
