The MultiVersus Twitter account has debunked rumours that Godzilla will be a playable fighter in the game.
A handful of players currently have access to MultiVersus thanks to its second round of playtests. This has led to the game being datamined, revealing voice lines, character models, and data that gives hints at who we can expect to see in the roster. One such character that is mentioned within the files is Godzilla, although it seems like he might not be in the game after all.

In response to a Tweet that showed an account that was showing evidence of Godzilla being in the game, the MultiVersus Twitter replied, saying, "The King of Monsters is still on Earth - not everything you may read about it is true, Doc."
Interestingly, the Twitter account said something similar when it revealed Velma just a few days ago, "Jinkies, a clue - Velma is officially part of the MultiVersus roster! There are more mysteries to uncover about who’s joining the multiverse, and not all of the leads out there are true!"
This apparent deconfirmation has been met with a mixed response from the community. Some players are choosing to take it as it's meant, a warning that not all of the leaks are true and that Godzilla isn't going to be in the game. Others think that's it's just a misdirect to draw attention away from the leaks and try to leave some things in the game as a surprise.
