March 10 is Mario Day, an annual holiday for gaming's most famous plumber, and Mario voice actor Charles Martinet has celebrated in his own unique way. Nintendo's Goomba-stomping mascot made his grand debut in 1981's Donkey Kong before starring in his own series of platformers. Voice actor Charles Martinet has played Mario since 1992, earning him a record for the most performances as a single game character.
Mario has become an international icon since his debut, with fans around the world paying their respects every March 10. The celebration, known as MAR10 Day, lets gamers honor Princess Peach's dedicated rescuer together by replaying games or acquiring unique merchandise. Nintendo began officially recognizing MAR10 Day back in 2016, turning the annual fan celebration into an official event complete with official merchandise and promotional tie-ins. McDonald's, for example, has brought themed Mario Kart toys back to its Happy Meal boxes to commemorate Mario and his friends' love for racing. Another MAR10 Day surprise, a LEGO Princess Peach set, was accidentally revealed before March 10 had even arrived.

In his own celebration of MAR10 Day, voice actor Charles Martinet (via Twitter) assumed the Nintendo mascot's iconic jumping pose while tweeting some of his some iconic vocal quirks. With a punny caption reading "Hoppy Mario Day!", the performer seems to fully embody the Italian plumber that he has portrayed for the last 30 years. Mario catchphrases "Woohoo" and "Here we go!" are also featured. Fans also came out in full support of Mario's national holiday, commenting on Martinet's tweet with fan art and pictures they had taken with the esteemed voice actor.
