Nintendo originally released Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U back in 2014 and since then, the game has been ported with DLC as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch. While the game included add-on content from its Wii U counterpart on launch, Nintendo has confirmed a Booster Course Pass with more tracks coming to the game with the first having just been released.
The first of several Booster Course DLCs with additional Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tracks has been released as part of the Booster Course Pass. The initial wave of new tracks includes the Golden Dash Cup and Lucky Cat Cup which both feature four remastered maps from previous Mario Kart games. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass add-on content can be purchased for $24.99.
All Mario Kart 8 DLC Tracks Can Be Played Online Without Purchasing Them
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe fans that are also subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will have immediate access to the Booster Course Pass for free just like the Happy Home Paradise DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The first Booster Courses added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the version 2.0.0 update has the Paris Promenade, Toad Circuit, Choco Mountain, and Coconut Mall tracks as part of the Golden Dash Cup which are all available today. The Lucky Cat Cup offers Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players Tokyo Blur, Shroom Ridge, Sky Garden, and Ninja Hideaway as its expansion to the growing lineup of levels in the kart racer.
Every track featured in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass is a remastered map from a different Mario Kart title. The Golden Dash Cup has tracks from a variety of other Mario Kart games from Nintendo Wii, 3DS, N64, and mobile. In contrast, the Lucky Cat Cup focuses half of its attention on Mario
