Miranda Cosgrove, star of iCarly, states that she enjoyed filming iCarly season 2 even more than she enjoyed filming season 1. The original iCarlyaired from 2007 to 2012 and centers on a teenage girl named Carly Shay (Cosgrove) who creates a web show with her two best friends Freddie (Nathan Kress) and Sam (Jennette McCurdy). About ten years after the original show wrapped, a revival of the same name aired on the relatively new streaming service Paramount+, in which the now-adult Carly and Freddie, along with new friends, have decided to relaunch their web show.
Season 2 picks up right after season 1 and will continue to follow the friends’ personal dramas as well as their work on their web show. iCarlyseason 1 premiered in June 2021 and a month later, it was renewed for a second season. Season 1 had positive reviews, holding a 100% rating from the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

In an exclusive Screen Rant interview, Cosgrove shares that she felt more relaxed on set while filming season 2 than she did during season 1. She says that while they were working on season 1, many of the cast members felt nervous about how audiences were going to receive the revival after so many years of being off the air. But since season 1 was so well-received and audiences are now re-introduced to the characters, the cast members felt more at ease the second time around. Here’s her full quote, below:
