Magic: The Gathering and Marvel to Collaborate in Multi-Year, Multi-Set Deal
Hasbro and Marvel are teaming up in a multi-year, multi-set deal to release Marvel characters and stories in Magic: The Gathering .
The deal will involve multiple sets, with the first tentpole set expected to release globally sometime in 2025. It is the latest big, high-profile Universes Beyond collaboration deal to expand other media properties to Magic: The Gathering and the latest collaboration between Hasbro and Marvel. Additional sets will follow, though the number and themes haven’t been revealed yet. We do know, however, that the teams are gearing up for years of releases.
In a press release announcing the collaboration, Marvel Comics and Franchise president, Dan Buckley, says “With the depth that our storytelling and characters bring to the table, we can’t wait for fans to see how the Marvel Universe translates seamlessly into gameplay within these Magic: The Gathering products and sets for years to come”.
Cynthia Williams, President of Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro Digital Gaming, adds, “These tentpole sets will build on the tradition of incorporating beloved fan-favorite characters and elements from world-class brands into Magic: The Gathering”.
Other collaborations in the Universes Beyond series include Fallout , J urassic Park, Doctor Who, Final Fantasy , and Assassin's Creed .
