MAGES. producer Masaki Sakari, who has been with the company since its founding as 5pb. in 2005, will leave MAGES. on March 31, he announced.
“In personal news, I will be retiring from MAGES. as of March 31,” Sakari said in a tweet. “I’ve been member since it was established as 5pb. on April 6, 2005, so I’ve been here for 18 years (closer to 19 years). For now, I’d like to spend my days tackling my piled-up backlog of games.”
He continued, “To everyone who supported me during my time here, and to everyone who played my games, thank you with all my heart. I would also like to thank MAGES. and all of the staff for giving me the freedom to do what I want, as well as everyone involved in development. I would also like to apologize to everyone I’ve inconvenienced, as well as thank you for your kindness.”
Finally, he added, “I regret not being able to see through to the console release of Ogre Tale, and offer my humblest apologies to everyone who has been waiting. But the Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, and PlayStation 4 versions have all gone gold, so please rest assured on that end.”
Ogre Tale launched for PC via Steam on August 20, 2020. The console versions have yet to be dated.
