Home Alone star, Macaulay Culkin, is developing a midlife crisis travel docuseries. Culkin is an American actor, musician, and former child star, best known for his role in the classic Christmas film Home Alone in 1990. After rising to become one of the most successful child stars of the '90s, Culkin took a hiatus from acting to live a normal life. He returned to acting in the 2000s, with his renewed acting career being more sporadic than steady. Since his return to acting, he has appeared in such works as Changeland, Robot Chicken, and American Horror Story: Double Feature. However, it seems Culkin is making a comeback to the industry with a new project on the horizon.
As reported by Variety, Culkin is developing a midlife crisis documentary series with Lightbox, called Macaulay Culkin's Midlife Crisis. The show's creation came about from a 2020 tweet that Culkin posted about turning 40 years old and seeking advice on reaching that age milestone. The numerous replies and retweets spawned Macaulay Culkin's Midlife Crisis, a docuseries in which Culkin travels the world as he explores what it really means to be middle-aged. Check out Lightbox's statement on the docuseries below:
Mack remains as iconic, and as loved as ever — a social media sensation, internet entrepreneur and a hard-working member of his pizza-themed Velvet Underground tribute band. Despite his legendary status, like the rest of us, he’s having to confront what it means to be a normal middle-aged guy, with a wife and a new kid who’s soon going to be the same age he was when he became a massive global superstar. We are thrilled to be working through our mid-life crises with him on this exciting project!
