Love Is Blind 2: Why Shayne Not Telling Natalie About Shaina Was Wrong

Despite the fact that Shayne Jansen ultimately chose to be with Natalie Lee and got engaged to her on Love Is Blind season 2, he should've been more forthcoming about the connection he had with Shaina Hurley in the pods and how close he got to proposing to her instead. It was no secret that both Natalie and Shaina were talking to Shayne in the pods. All things considered, Natalie was aware that Shayne had also been interacting with Shaina all along.

However, Shayne was never shown spelling things out to Natalie in a similar way that Jarrette Jones did with Iyanna McNeely. In Jarrette and Iyanna's case, he was very honest with her in the pods about his deep interactions with Mallory Zapata. He ultimately chose to get engaged to Iyanna, but she was fully aware that Mallory had been in Jarrette's mind throughout that initial phase of Love Is Blind.

But looking at what was featured on Love Is Blind season 2 episodes 1 through 5, Shayne was never shown discussing with Natalie what his connection with Shaina had been in the pods. If Shaina does pursue Shayne in the coming episodes, it might throw Natalie completely off because she's missing a lot of context. Shayne and Shaina had extensive conversations to the point that she even thought he was about to propose to her. Shayne also declared himself a few times to Shaina in the pods prior to getting engaged to Natalie instead. As fans have pointed out on social media, Shayne acted very differently if he was talking to Shaina or if he was talking to Natalie. Thus, it's unclear if Natalie knew the full extent of what was really going on
