A new Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii trailer was shared today, providing a new look at Goro Majima's crazy next adventure.
The new trailer, shown during today's Xbox Partner Preview Showcase, provides a new look at the next entry in the series by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, focusing on naval battles in particular. The trailer also confirmed that the game will release a week earlier than anticipated, on February 21st instead of February 27th.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will star one of the series' most beloved characters, the aforementioned former yakuza Goro Majima, as he reinvents himself as a pirate after having lost his memory. Besides featuring the latest evolution of the brawler combat system seen in previous main entries in the series, the game will also feature intense real-time ship battles that promise to further set the game apart from its predecessors.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will release on February 21st, 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S a little over a year since the release of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. You can learn more about the game by checking out Kai's review.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth serves as the real bridge between the Yakuza and Like a Dragon series into one cohesive experience. It’s the perfect sendoff for Kiryu and a passing of the torch to the plucky Ichiban Kasuga. In a lot of ways, Infinite Wealth builds upon the past with callbacks that series fans could appreciate. It’s a Japanese RPG experience that could only best be described as Ryu ga Gotoku Studio’s Metal Gear Solid 4 moment.
