The latest video diary, Building The Galaxy, details the planets, characters, and content that can be found within the Skywalker Saga. During the section that talks about the game's playable characters, lead animator Mark Crane says, "You'll see characters in this game that you have never in any of our Star Wars game. Some of the characters that are shown after this claim include the Clone Wars' Mama the Hutt, the Rise of Skywalker's Carib Diss and Aftab Ackbar, and even Yaddle, the only female member of Yoda's species known in the Star Wars universe. Babu Frik is also shown off and looks to be one of the smallest Lego characters ever, not even reaching the knees of a First Order soldier he's attacking.
Although Crane is specifically talking about characters that have never appeared in "our Star Wars games", none of the characters listed above and shown in that section of the video have been playable or even appeared in Star Wars games. That's right, even fairly well-known characters like Yaddle and Babu Frik haven't appeared in a game until now.
