Of the numerous games released throughout the Silent Hill franchise, Silent Hill 4: The Room is easily one of the most divergent games in the overall series. Being the first game in the series to take place outside the titular location of Silent Hill, Silent Hill 4 utilized various interactive mechanics and narrative themes that were completely new to the franchise. Now, it seems Konami is celebrating Silent Hill 4 by way of an interesting form factor.
Aside from the playable teaser for the now-canceled Silent Hills, Konami hasn't released an official Silent Hill title in nearly ten years. While a lot of fans are disappointed by the overall lack of new Silent Hill content, it doesn't seem like Konami has completely abandoned the franchise. In fact, a new piece of Silent Hill merchandise based on the fourth mainline installment appears to be in the works.
Bloober Team Won't Comment on Silent Hill 2 Remake Rumors
Over on Twitter, a user named Wario64, who has provided numerous leaks in the past, posted an image from the Official Konami Shop which states that it is advertising a «Limited Edition Board #4» that's in reference to Silent Hill 4: The Room. Wario64 surmised that this will likely be a skateboard themed after Silent Hill 4.
Now, given that Konami hasn't officially announced anything yet, it's important for fans to take this leak with a grain of salt. Though, given how much Silent Hill merchandise Konami has been releasing as of late, such as the release of the soundtracks of Silent Hill 3 and 4 on vinyl records last year, it's likely that Konami would release something akin to a Silent Hill 4 skateboard.
However, for many longtime fans of the series, the lack of any sort of new Silent Hill games is rather irritating,
