For the past five years, Kojima Productions has been headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo. The office, filled with long corridors, spacious rooms, and a wall covered in both signatures and photographs, was unique even among the most eclectic of video game developers.
And now Kojima Productions is moving. Hideo Kojima himself made the announcement on Twitter today in a series of photographs that made it clear he was rather fond of the place.

“Today is the day we say goodbye to the entrance, the Ludens hallway, and the kitchen that have been our home for a little over five years,” wrote Kojima. “Many memories come to mind. Farewell.” He then followed that up with both a crying and praying emoji, as well as several other photos that also contained the same crying and praying emoji.
In one of the photos, Kojima can clearly be seen looking at the remnants of the studio’s kitchen. Power cables are strewn about waiting to be picked up by movers (presumably) and counters that likely used to contain coffee carafes and cups now sit vacantly. We can’t see Kojima’s face, but we can probably assume a wry expression as he peers at the wall covered in photos and signatures from visitors.
We don’t know where Kojima Productions is moving to, but we’ll be sure to keep an eye on Kojima’s Twitter page to find out.
