An eagle-eyed Kirby fan recently noticed a clever detail about Nintendo’s beloved pink puffball while playing Kirby’s Dreamland 3. Ever since his first appearance on the Nintendo Game Boy in 1992, Kirby has charmed players with his cute antics as he floated his way across several sequels, spin-offs, and guest appearances in crossover titles like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Even now, some of Kirby's less remembered titles like 2000's Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards and Kirby's Avalanche are gaining renewed exposure on the Nintendo Switch Online's store, allowing fans to discover new hidden secrets and long-forgotten tidbits about their favorite platforming mascot.
One of Kirby’s most iconic and recognizable traits is his ability to inhale enemies and objects to either spit them back out as projectiles or copy their powers for himself by swallowing them. Kirby’s rubbery, balloon-like body helps him in this, as the recently released Kirby and the Forgotten Land saw him gobble up larger items like cars and vending machines as part of Kirby and the Forgotten Land's Mouthful Mode mechanic. However, while Kirby is never shown to lose his grip on any enemies who find their way into his stretchy, gaping mouth, it seems his foes continue to struggle before they are digested into Kirby’s newest ability.
