The Justified revival at FX announced back in January has added eight new cast members. Variety was the first to report on the crime drama's family growing.
Along with returning star Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood), Justified: City Primeval will also star: Aunjanue Ellis (King Richard, When They See Us), Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, The Sandman), Adelaide Clemens (The Great Gatsby, Rectify), Vondie Curtis Hall (Harriet, The Night House), Marin Ireland (Y: The Last Man, The Umbrella Academy), Norbert Leo Butz (Bloodline, Fosse/Verdon), Victor Williams (The Good Lord Bird, The King of Queens), and Vivian Olyphant.
As revealed earlier this year, Justified: City Primeval will cast Olyphant's gunslinger character Marshal Raylan Givens in a story reimagining the Elmore Leonard novel City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit. Justified creator Graham Yost will serve as executive producer, with Justified writers and executive producers Michael Dinner and Dave Andron also serving as both co-writers and co-showrunners. Dinner will direct.
«When Justified concluded, the love and affection for this exceptional series only grew and left audiences craving more Raylan Givens,» said Sony Pictures Television Studios president Jeff Frost and co-president Jason Clodfelter in a release. «We look forward to experiencing the magic again of Tim, Graham, Dave, Michael, and our pre-eminent executive producer team. We are so thrilled to be continuing this remarkable ride with our partners at FX.»
This would be the second time Olyphant has reprised a lawman character. In 2019, HBO released a two-hour Deadwood movie, with the actor again giving life to Seth Bullock.
