The smartphone places itself in the sub-Rs. 10,000 category where there are very few options available apart from Redmi 9A and Tecno Spark 7. The JioPhone Next features a 5.45-inch HD display and a Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood, it is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon QM 215 chipset with a quad-core processor. It sports a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash and has a 8MP selfie camera. It runs on the native Pragati OS, a tweaked version of Android 11 Go, and comes pre-installed with many Jio apps. The smartphone has dual sim support.
The smartphone is backed by a decent 3,500 mAh battery. It has 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. The smartphone does support external microSD expandable up to 512GB. Google offers regular software and security and updates on the device.
However, there is one caveat. The 4G connectivity can only be used with an active Jio SIM card on JioPhone Next. Using any other SIM card will result in network throttling and users will only get 2G connectivity. So do consider that before you head out to buy the smartphone.
