Comedian Ramy Youssef has struck a deal with Amazon to create two seasons of an animated series. Youssef is most known for his partially auto-biographical series Ramy on Hulu. The animated series coming to Amazon is part of a first-look deal with Youssef and his production company, Cairo Cowboy.
Variety has reported that the series is currently in production and led by Youssef and Pam Brady (Lady Dynamite). The series will follow a Muslim-American family in the early 2000s that must learn to code-switch in order to get through everyday life. Both Youssef and Brady are executive producing the series along with Mona Chalabi, a journalist and illustrator who has had work published inThe New Yorker and The New York Times. A24 and Amazon Studios will also co-produce the show. A full comment from Youssef on the series can be read below:

The show's setting, cast, and release date have yet to be announced.
