Isla Fisher is set to join the cast of Universal’s new animated comedy film Strays opposite Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx. Strays, a comedy that will combine live-action elements with computer animation, is set to follow a team of stray dogs who set out to get revenge on a bad-willed former pet owner. Fisher, who is known for her roles in movies including Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic, will spearhead a stacked voice cast.
Deadline reports that Fisher will play a yet-unknown role in the dog-centric adventure, which also stars The Last Man on Earth’s Will Forte along with Ferrell and Foxx. Josh Greenbaum, who helmed recent comedy hit Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, is set to direct. The screenplay comes from Dan Perrault, who penned Netflix’s mockumentary show American Vandal. Ferrell will play the recently stray dog who decides to take revenge alongside the more experienced mutt (played by Foxx), while Forte will reportedly play the dog’s former owner.

The film’s cast and crew are a recipe for comedic success, with Ferrell (Anchorman), Foxx (Horrible Bosses), Forte (MacGruber), and Fisher (Arrested Development) all hugely successful comedy stars. Along with the screenwriter and director, the film is also being produced by Lord and Miller of The Lego Movie fame. While not much else is known about the recently-announced film, Strays is set to go into production soon.
