The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan has shared a picture of himself on set for the last time as the decade-long series comes to a close. The Walking Dead debuted on AMC back in 2010, starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, a sheriff’s deputy who wakes from a coma amid a zombie apocalypse. Over years, Rick and his tight-knit group of survivors have adapted to survive to a hopeless world, fighting off both the ravenous undead and the dark, twisted gangs of humans that have formed. Dean Morgan joined the show for its season 6 finale as the iconic The Walking Dead comics villain Negan. The brutal, baseball-bat-wielding enemy has been a show highlight for the last few years, slowly becoming an anti-hero through a gradual redemption arc.
Negan continues to fight alongside the group in The Walking Dead's final season 11. The extra-long episode run is set to finally wrap up over a decade of Walking Dead stories, with beloved characters Daryl, Carol and Maggie among the long-standing heroes. Earlier this week, show-runners announced that filming on the final episode had concluded and shooting on the show as a whole was officially complete, leading to an emotional realization for fans that The Walking Dead season 11 finale is getting closer.
