Sackboy: A Big Adventure has made a relatively slow start to life on PC, Steam data suggests.
According to independent data tracker SteamDB, the game has a peak concurrent player count of 610 since it hit Valve’s platform on October 27.
While it’s worth noting that the LittleBigPlanet series has never been one of Sony’s blockbuster franchises, the figure is dramatically lower than PlayStation’s other first-party PC games have managed, and at the time of publishing the title is ranked at No.863 in terms of concurrent players, with a total of 386.
In comparison, Horizon Zero Dawn debuted on Steam to a peak of around 56,000 players and Spider-Man attracted around 66,000. God of War managed an even higher peak of around 73,000 players and Days Gone attracted around 27,000 on its release weekend.
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which also released for PC this month, was PlayStation’s weakest first-party launch on Steam prior to Sackboy, with a peak of 10,851 concurrent players.
Another high-profile 3D platformer, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, was released on Steam on October 18 and has a peak concurrent player count of 274. While the total is less than half of Sackboy’s, Activision‘s game has been available for PC since March 2021 via Battle.net.
It’s also worth noting that Sackboy was released one day before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which is expected to be one of the best-selling games of this year and next and has attracted 263,174 peak concurrent players on Steam.
Like Sony’s other PC ports, Sackboy is also available via the Epic Games Store.
Originally released for PS4 and PS5 in 2020, Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a 3D platformer developed by LittleBigPlanet 3 and LittleBigPlanet Vita studio Sumo Digital.
