Warning! Spoilers for Iron Man #17 by Marvel Comics
In his adventures with the Avengers, Iron Man has worn many different suits of armor while fighting alongside Marvel's greatest superteam. In a new cover (and animation) from superstar artist Jamie McKelvie, every suit the hero worn as a member of the Avengers is showcased in an incredible variant cover starring Iron Man's looks. The variant cover is accompanied by an incredible animation showing the different Avengers armors in action.
Iron Man is one of Marvel Comics' oldest heroes, debuting inTales of Suspense #39 by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Don Heck, and Jack Kirby. Soon after making his first appearance, Tony Stark would join the Avengers as one of the superteams founding members. Iron Man has remained a key member of the Avengers for nearly 60 years, being a part of many (and most) team iterations. While Iron Man has primarily kept a similar red and gold look after transitioning from his bulky Mark I Armor, the hero's sported several different looks during his time with the Avengers — with some being much stranger than others.

On his Twitter account, artist Jamie McKelvie (Captain Marvel, The Wicked + The Divine) shared his upcoming variant for Iron Man #17 by Christopher Cantwell, Ibraim Roberson, and Alex Ross. As the hero undergoes one of his most transformative story arcs ever, McKelvie designed a cover showing the changes the hero has undergone fighting alongside the Avengers. The 1:25 incentive variant cover features Iron Man's different armors he's worn alongside the Avengers, as the image seems to homage the Ascent of Man.
