Indie gem Inscryption has released the free Kaycee’s Mod update, turning the game into an endlessly challenging roguelike. Inscryption launched in late 2021 to positive reception from both critics and players, impressing many with its genre-bending spin on card and deckbuilding titles.
Inscryption mixes psychological horror with a card game formula, adding in elements of escape rooms as well as roguelike gameplay. The resulting creep-fuelled CCG experience has gone on to secure the title a name as one of the best indie games of 2021, and its evergrowing fanbase has only seen further improvements since launch. Kaycee's Mod entered beta testing in December, just weeks after the game's release, and its full launch has been a highly-anticipated addition to Inscryption due to the new elements and challenges it introduces. Inscryption was selected as Screen Rant's GOTY 2021, and both outlets and players have been eagerly awaiting more news on Kaycee's Mod.

Publisher Devolver Digital has confirmed that Inscryption's Kaycee's Mod update is now live for all players, with the update made available for free today, March 17. The new game mode solidifies the deckbuilding game as a standalone experience by offering an endlessly playable version of the game's Part 1. The mini-expansion "hacks Leshy’s Cabin into an endless, and increasingly challenging, roguelike," in which players can unlock new cards, challenges, and logs from the late Kaycee Hobbes as she uncovers fresh secrets.
