A fan-made remake built in Unreal Engine 5 makes the land of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim look more realistic than ever as a resurfaced video goes viral. Unreal Engine 5, a gaming engine developed by Epic Games, was released very recently in early April. The engine is already being used for mainstream game development on titles such asFortnite.
The Elder Scrolls series, Skyrim especially, has been a popular subject within the modding community, with many developers and modders trying to improve the game. Years after its release, some fans still feel unsatisfied with the base game, whether because of how infamously glitchy it can be at times, or because of its overall appearance aging less than gracefully, and players have been hoping for an experience like Skyrim but with more polish. Many still see plenty of potential in Skyrim, which is why it's still popular among modders. Players have been creating mods for Skyrim ever since it was first released back in 2011. From updated textures, new creatures and NPCs, additional mechanics or tweaks to old ones, to even more ambitious mods like entire quests with fully voiced original characters, there are thousands of Skyrim mods for players to choose from to improve their experiences.
