There’s a lot of speculation on who the next big villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could be now that Thanos is gone for good, and a theory reveals that Thor: Love & Thunder’s villain, Gorr the God Butcher, is setting up Phase 5’s Thanos replacement. The MCU continues its expansion with its highly-anticipated Phase 4, which is not only introducing new characters and events but it’s also continuing the stories of well-established heroes, as is the case of Thor, who is returning with his fourth solo movie.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love & Thunder will reunite the audience with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) as he attempts to find inner peace after the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Thor will have to return to action to stop Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) from ending with all gods, and for that, he will need the help of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Waititi), and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who has become Mighty Thor.
