While the goal of most Pokémon games is to catch 'em all, some Trainers take this one step further by committing to finding a Shiny version of each Pokémon. These rare variants have different color schemes and are very hard to find. Shiny hunting got a bit easier in the games on Nintendo Switch, but some Pokémon, like Shiny Meloetta, have remained completely unavailable… until now.
To claim your Shiny Meloetta, you'll need to complete the Paldea Pokédex, the Kitakami Pokédex, and the Blueberry Academy Pokédex within the app. This means you'll need to catch them all in the game on Nintendo Switch, and then transfer them all over the app, making it a very lengthy challenge.
The first requirement means you'll need to have completed the base game on Nintendo Switch and have caught or evolved every single Pokémon listed in the Paldea region's Pokédex. There are 400 of them in total.
You need to catch these Pokémon directly in and transfer them across to for them to be eligible, so you won't be able to use Pokémon caught in previous games to finish this challenge.
The second step is to complete expansion and catch every Pokémon listed in the Kitakami region's Pokédex. This includes the Legendary Ogerpon, as well as the Loyal Three trio: Okidogi, Monkidori, and Fezandipiti. There are 200 of them in total, meaning this is a smaller task than the Paldea region's Pokédex, but it will still take quite a while to finish.
As for the final step, you'll need to finish expansion and catch every Pokémon listed in the Blueberry Academy region's Pokédex. There are 243 of them in total.
