features several different currencies for players to use in-game, and while it may be more difficult for some than others, there is a way to acquire each one for free — even Poké Gold. Like most currencies, Poké Gold can be earned by making progress in the game.
Unfortunately, while Poké Gold can technically be earned for free, it is the most difficult to acquire. While Pack Hourglasses, Wonder Hourglasses, and Shop Tickets are earned through missions and battles, Poké Gold isn't. Instead, you will need to put in a significant amount of time to earn a handful of Poké Gold for free.
As you may have noticed, Poké Gold is one of the only currencies that can't be purchased in the in-game shop. However, if you head over to the Poké Gold specific shop, which is highlighted at the bottom of the normal shop page, you'll find that Poké Gold can be purchased, but not with Shop Tickets. Poké Gold is, currently, the only currency that requires real money in the app.
Pokémon TCG Pocket will be a new take on the popular physical game, with new ways to collect cards formatted around a digital world and drop rates.
That being said, not everyone is willing or ready to spend money on Poké Gold, so luckily, there is a way to earn some without purchasing it. Right now,the only way to earn Poké Gold for free is by earning XP and leveling up your account. Poké Gold will be given as a reward upon leveling up, but you won't receive a large drop, just one or two. Furthermore, leveling up, especially the higher you get, takes longer and longer, so it's not exactly an effective method either.
In a technical sense, however, earning XP is easy, since all you need to do is play the game. This includes participating in battles, completing missions, and opening Genetic Apex packs. All of these will earn you a small amount of XP and you should have gone through quite a few levels once you've completed all the tutorials and solo battles.
Instead of focusing on Poké Gold though, I'd recommend
