E-banking apps and Unified Payments Interface (UPI) apps like Paytm, Google Pay, Phone Pe made it easy to make secured payments. However, these can be misused if your phone is stolen or falls into the wrong hands. In case you lose your phone or it gets stolen, the first thing that you must do is block your phone number as well as the UPI apps to prevent unauthorized access to your bank accounts. Deactivating UPI payments and temporarily blocking your accounts is one of the most convenient and easiest ways to restrict thieves from stealing your money. iIf you lose your device, ensure your account stays safe. Here are simple and easy steps to block Paytm, Google Pay and Phone Pe
Step 1: As soon as you lose your phone or find it missing, call helpline number 01204456456 ASAP.
Step 2: Follow the instructions and select the option for lost phone.
Step 3: Choose the option to enter a different number and enter your lost phone number.
Step 4: Select to log out from all devices and head to Paytm website
Step 5: Tap on 24x7 Help and go to the ‘Report a Fraud’ tab.
Step 6: Next, select any issue and then tap on the Message Us button at the bottom.
Step 7: Now, submit one proof of account ownership which can be a debit/ credit card statement showing Paytm account transactions, or a confirmation email or SMS for a Paytm account transaction, or proof of phone number ownership, or police complaint proof against lost or stolen phone.
Step 8: Once done, Paytm will validate and block your account and a confirmation message will be sent to your registered mobile number.
